Had spacious ground floor studio kitchen. Gorgeous view. Could see more from common lounge area upstairs. Relaxed friendly management. Use of laundry available. Walking distance from gardens pier, eateries, etc. though uphill on return. Close to public "Orbus" stop as alternative. Only $2 with a Bee card so worth checking that out. Bathroom had heated towel racks and some bench space! Shower easy to operate (unless you are much shorter than me at 151 cm). Smoothe floor could be slippery for some.

Awesome location, with a balcony that had insane views of the lake and mountains which we loved, and parking was very convenient. We were 3 female travellers, and we felt very safe during our stay - the lodge was only accessible with an RFID tag and rooms were only accessible with a key. The room was comfy, alright size with normal amenities, very fuss-free and cosy, just nice for 3 people. The hotel was also very kind to accommodate our request to turn on the heaters prior to arrival. We also loved that it was within walking distance from the lake and a nearby park (around 5 minutes), I loved going for morning walks. It was a bit of a distance from town but walkable (around 20min walk, 5min drive) so it was not the closest but we were alright with this because we had a car.

A lovely spacious room with one of the most beautiful views on the planet! I woke up to extraordinary views of the lake and mountains and at bedtime it was a struggle to tear myself away from the sunsets and then the incredible night sky. Absolutely wonderful. The room itself was very comfortable and with an excellent shower. It had all the facilities I would expect. A very nice and unexpected touch was the electric blanket for those cooler nights. The owners were kind and welcoming, and I really could not have asked for more. I would go back in a heartbeat!

The lake view from the room was absolutely stunning! The photos didn't do it justice, it was like being in a postcard! Room was spacious and the beds very comfy, with extra duvets if it got cold on an night. Only a 10-15 minute walk into the centre and right across the road from the bus stop. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.

We loved our stay here. A 10-15min walk into town, steep walk back, helped us walk off all the eating and drinking. STUNNING views of the lake and mountains from here. The main staff were away and a really lovely man was looking after the place, we really appreciated him, we felt like we were staying at a friend's place.

The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. But the highlight was definitely the view—waking up to the stunning lake and mountain scenery each day was truly magical. The large windows allowed us to enjoy the landscape from every room, making it feel like we were living in a postcard. The location was also perfect, with easy access to nearby shops, restaurants, and local attractions. I can't recommend this place enough—it's an absolute gem!

Vicki was awesome! We loved our location, our gorgeous view of the lake, and our comfy room. We really appreciated that Vicki took time to recommend excursions and show us how to get around town easily. The kitchenette was convenient, and it was so nice that staff took our dirty dishes every day. We appreciated having laundry facilities on site, and we liked all the community space and sitting areas available at Earnslaw Lodge . It was also easy to walk anywhere around the downtown area in 15 minutes or so. Recommended!

We loved the view, the location, the room, but above everything the amazing hosts. Vicky was very prompt in responding to any messages. She really went above and beyond to help us deciding on our tour plan. We almost cancelled our original plan to driving to Christchurch via Fox Glacier due to road closure at Haast and was thinking of extending our stay at Earnslaw Lodge instead. Even though they had room available, Vicky advised us to continue the trip to Fox Glacier and also gave us a very informative book for planning. It is for her we continued to that route and had memorable road trip back to Christchurch. Thank you Vicky. For the lodge, we stayed at the lake view studio. The room is spacious, the view from the room is priceless. Also, the lodge is only 15 mins walk away from the centre. We found it very convenient as did not have to worry about car parks in the centre.

Very handy location, CBD all in walking distance. The balcony with the view over the lake was nice and the room was large and clean and you had everything you needed. Definitely good if you want a more budget option.
